    The When

    The festivities kick off on Monday, October 7th and officially end on Thursday the 10th.Here is a breakdown of timeline from start to finish:

    The Day Before

    Monday, October 7th

    2 PM: Bus pick-up in Florence City to take all bus guests to Borgo di Pietrafitta RelaisPick up point Piazzale Montelungo3 PM: Arrival at the venue and check-in5 PM - 9 PM: Welcome Party with food & drinks

    The Day Of

    Tuesday, October 8th

    8 AM - 10 AM: BreakfastMorning - 3:45 PM: Rest & Relaxation(if leaving the venue, please make sure to be back by 3 PM in order to have ample time to be ready for the ceremony. )Lunch - 12:30pm - 2:30pm: Lunch today will not be provided. The food at the reception and dinner will be ample (to say the least), but since it is only after 5pm, for guests who still wish to have some lunch, here are some options:-> A short walk down the hill from the venue is the restaurant Enoteca Nuvolari, if you would like to eat there for lunch, you need to let us know a couple weeks in advance and we can book a table for you. Here is a link to the menu.-> You can also order pizza to be delivered to the venue, a great option if you just wanna chill by the pool 😎, but make sure you have cash for the delivery as they do not accept cards.     Welcome to Borgo di Pietrafitta Relais!

    Nestled in the rolling green hills of the Chianti Region of Tuscany, you'll find this adorable and rustic medieval village converted into an authentic "relais" atop a hill. This serene and intimate spot is your home for the next 3 nights.Pietrafitta is about an hour drive South of Florence, which has the closest regional airport. We will be providing a bus service transportation to and from Florence for those who need it. Pietrafitta also has ample parking for those who wish to rent a car and take the journey down themselves.With several rooms and apartments throughout the grounds, Pietrafitta can accommodate up to 90 guests. We will be making room assignments once all RSVPs have been received and do our best to keep groups, family, and friends together. For the 3 nights at Pietrafitta, it will be a total of €350 ($380) per person. This includes breakfast every morning.     1️⃣ Tell me more about the accommodation!

    We've booked the entire property of Borgo di Pietrafitta Relais for the wedding exclusively for our guests. It is a secluded and intimate typical Tuscan estate, which means private and quiet but also the closest civilization is not walkable. The property is dotted with a number of apartments and the main villa so we are all able to stay in the same place. There is an infinity pool, fire place, living room commons areas and plenty more to discover on site.Breakfast is included on every morning.

    2️⃣ How do we get there?

    The closest airport to the venue is Florence Airport, Peretola (FLR), so we recommend finding flights that will get you there. There are also fast trains from Rome to Florence.For those who have chosen to take the bus, here’s the schedule for you to plan your travels:Florence City to Pietrafitta @ 14:00/2pm  on Monday Oct 7thPietrafitta to Florence City @ 10:00am on Thursday Oct 10thTotal price per person for the bus is €32 - that's for both ways.For those who are planning to make a longer trip before and/or after the wedding, renting a car might be a more flexible option for you. There is plenty of free parking spots at the venue.Pick-up and Drop-off point for the bus in Florence City is Piazzale Montelungo, a short walk from Florence Train Station (“Firenze Santa Maria Novella”).

    3️⃣ What is the dress code?

    Welcome Party: "Pink Encouraged."You don't have to show up looking like Barbie, just have fun, maybe a little pink accent. But don't stress, just wear nice cocktail attire. No white please.Ceremony/Apéro/Dinner: Black Tie Formal.Tuxes/suits and gowns. Warm layer recommended for after sunset. No white please.Rest of the time: Whatever you want! Preferably not naked. 😳Relax and where whatever is comfortable for the climate.Tips: The grounds have an "authentic Italian rustic charm." which means gravel, sand and cobblestones. So make sure to bring comfortable footwear.A tip for ladies: formal shoes should have a wider heel. Think block heels over stilettos.

    4️⃣ What will the weather be like?

    In October, Tuscany is wonderfully mild and pleasant throughout the day.Temperatures can average between 15C(59F) and 25C(77F). Comfortably wear a t-shirt and shorts during the day but as the sun sets, the temperature drops quickly.So be sure to pack for warm weather and layers for the evenings and night.While chances of rain are low, its always smart to plan for the worst and hope for the best!TL;DR: Bring layers

    5️⃣ "What else can we do during our time there?"

    Are the main events not enough!?The estate of Pietrafitta is a wonderful place to get some R&R:
    -> Explore the grounds and find many places to sit, relax and take in the 360 degree view of the Chianti region.
    -> The infinity pool is fantastic spot to cool off at the heat of the day.
    -> We will have a kiosk on site with complementary snacks and drinks.
    -> There will be lawn games and activities throughout the grounds to enjoy as well.
    Cornhole tournament anyone??    Castellina in Chianti is the closest town. An adorable medieval village with ample shopping and eating and drinking opportunities.Please note: It is not walkable (due to the danger of no sidewalks along the winding narrow roads and the walk would take 30min) nor is their public transport, so you will need to arrange with someone with a car. Taxi availability is also extremely limited and can cost up to 40/50 euros for just a 7-8min drive to the town.Note: we have already arranged a trip to Castellina in Chianti and a wine tasting/tour of a wine estate for the day after the wedding.

    6️⃣ "I'd like to give a gift, what and how can I give?"

    While your presence at our union is a wonderful gift enough, we of course would be most grateful to receive a monetary donation towards our honeymoon fund! 🛫🌏🏝️

    7️⃣ Phones during the Ceremony

    While we know you'd love to capture the moment of us tying the knot, we've hired a professional team of photographers and videographers to record the entire day. So we kindly ask that you keep your phones on silent and put away. There will be a brief moment at the beginning of the ceremony to take your photos of the couple which the officiant will inform you of. Beyond that, we would like to ask that you just be in the moment and enjoy the ceremony!

    8️⃣ "I'm coming from abroad, got any tips?"

    Money - For those coming from a non-Euro country we would highly recommend that you sign up a Revolut account and card before your travels. It is a fantastic service that lets you exchange money and use a card without fees and control everything via an app. The cards even work with Apple/Google Pay on your phone.     "Non Parli Italiano?"
    Worried about not being able to interact with the locals or read the menu? It really shouldn't be an issue but its always good to have a backup when you are unable to communicate effectively.    Its 2024 so you probably already have a translator app on the phone in your pocket! Either pull up the native translate app or download Google Translate to start a conversation and use the camera function magically translate the text in front of you and know what to order!
